Emergency Food ShelfThere are weeks when the money just doesn't stretch far enough. The check doesn't come through. Surprise expenses clear out your resources.
And you're left wondering, "Where am I going to find supper tonight?" or "How am I going to feed the kids?" WMC together with the Awaking Church keep a small stock of emergency food items on hand for just those kind of situations. If you need a day or two's worth of food, please stop by Awaking church or phone. We have you covered. |
Community Meal on First SundaysOne Sunday each month (usually the first), WMC hosts a community meal. WMC members bring homemade dishes to a delicious and fun potluck. Be sure to check our Calendar for the date of each month's community meal.
Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us. There's always plenty of food to go around! The meal begins just after noon following our worship service. (No need to show up for worship service to join in the meal. No need to bring anything. Showing up hungry is good enough!) Warman Community Food BankWMC also supports the Warman Community Food Bank, a resource run by the Warman Ministerial Association.
The Food Bank offers vouchers or gift cards from area grocery stores to Warman residents who need a little help keeping food on the table. The Food Bank also coordinates the Christmas Hamper program each December. Hampers of gift cards help folks have a rich celebration of the holiday season even in the midst of hard times. At any time of year, WMC can put you in touch with the Warman Community Food Bank. |
